About this lesson
This video is number three of four which have dealt with sample proportion and population proportion. In this video, we look at how we can use the Normal Distribution to approximate for large values of n and p values which fall not too close to 0 and 1.
I start by looking at the nature of the sample proportion and how it changes with each sample. We map this and find, for a large number of samples, we can see the distribution to be approximately normal. As we know the data is going to be Binomial in nature we can use the large value of n to help us use the Normal Distribution to approximate the sample distribution.
I take a look at the theory behind why we can use the Normal Distribution to approximate for the Binomial Distribution we apply it to some examples and show how awesome it is.
