About this lesson
Quadratic equations are used over and over again throughout all aspects of Mathematics at Years 10, 11 and 12 and it's really important to not only know how to "solve" them but what the process of solving is really telling you. In this video, part of the Year 9 course on Quadratic Equations, I take a look at what it means to solve a quadratic before we look at how. Finding the roots of equations means we can sketch the graphs of quadratics really quickly. This video looks at standard monic quadratic equations as well as perfect squares. I use DESMOS.com to show what the equations look like and take time to discuss the tricks which can be employed. The video is easy to understand but thorough and might contain my signature humour!
